Permissive footpaths provided by Great Shelford Parochial Charities - it's an old photo, as it doesn't show the stepped footpath over the railway.

Cut-through to Addenbrooke's Road - shown as a cycleway on OpenCycleMap but not wide enough for a new development.

Cut-through to Shelford Road

The Shelford Road cycle lanes - removed by Cambridgeshire County Council, apparently as part of their response to Covid-19 - reappear just north of this point.

Cambridgeshire County Council has removed the cycle lane markings on Shelford Rd, apparently as part of their response to Covid-19 - but the roadside signs are still in place. Who knows what the plan is.

This is a busy cycle route from Fulbourn into Cambridge. Building works have left no provision for people riding. https://t.co/xJ9Y6Fjbc6

Quick Quiz! Which environment would you like to ride in? The wildlife decimated, shredded-litter strewn dry one on the left? Or the wild meadow-like, diverse, flora and fauna rich one on the right? https://t.co/Id7QNzljdK

This is behaviour from someone driving that is not usual but is far more prevalent than it should be. As someone riding, I have the right to not be threatened by others behaviour. We have lanes to indicate where we have priority. At the ... [more]

High capacity lo-high cycle parking with anchor point that conveniently allows the frame to be locked to the rack.

Overranking continues despite the Covid-19 lockdown.

Fairly new parking, I think, on King St, with space for cargo bikes above an access hatch.

Strange to install steelwork that's pretty useless except for cycle parking, and then plaster No Cycling stickers on them.

It's hard to see what purpose this serves as EXCEPT as cycle parking - so why the No Cycles stickers?

Nature reclaiming cycle parking during the Covid-19 lockdown

Strange - absurdly over-specified cycle stands with the other side taken out of use to allow a second car to be squeezed in (as visible on Google satellite).

Start of new advisory cycle lanes painted by Cambridgeshire County Council because proper mandatory lanes would take time and effort.

New advisory cycle lanes painted by Cambridgeshire County Council because proper mandatory lanes would take time and effort - so drivers leave cars in the cycle lane and the cyclist is pushed out into the road.

Works on this path to Huntingdon Road have finished and locals have pushed aside the barriers. Time to remove them properly.

Access by stile only on this footpath - now that the A14 works are complete, surely it's time to allow access for bikes and wheelchairs again?

Erstwhile cattle creep, now a tunnel under the A1237 (York ring road), opened in late 2019. It is between Main Street (Knapton) and Northfield Lane and is the final part of the Rufforth to Knapton route. It gives: a) Rufforth residents an a ... [more]

  • Icon 124389 Too narrow
  • Icon 124388 Very difficult for cyclists trying to access station due to traffic congestion and narrow carriageway.
  • Icon 124387 Turn Calverley Park Gardens into a street its residents and a bus / active travel corridor
  • Icon 124386 Crossing is made dangerous by frequent red-light-jumping drivers. A yellow box and enforcement cameras would help.
  • Icon 124385 Close road, make culdesac.
  • Icon 124384 There's a very bad nod of pedestrian footpath and cycle way. No space for pedestrian and awkward pedestrian/cycle road crossing.
  • Icon 124383 Widen pavement. Single file walking only.
  • Icon 124382 So there is a shared path used by cyclists and pedestrians but is far too narrow. It is wide enough for one bike at best.
  • Icon 124381 Provide a safe, even cycle path that doesn't come to an abrupt halt (currently full of pot-holes and sudden endings); ban ALL pavement parking; introduce 20mph zones on the entire Uplands estate (Miller Drive and other connecting roads)
  • Icon 124380 The pavement is too narrow. There seems to be enough space on the road for the pavement to be widened. At the moment there is not enough space for social distancing.
  • Icon 124379 Turn Calverley Park Gardens into a street its residents and a bus / active travel corridor
  • Icon 124378 So this is popular route for both walkers and cyclists but it is a bit narrow when it is busy. Simply cutting the bushes back would make a big difference.
