Temporary Westbound cycle lane

Just after high tide, in dry weather, the Irt at this location is still a sizeable tidal river. The location of the "ford" on maps is in the centre of the photograph (the fence on the right hand bank gives an idea of scale).

Wickham Market Station

On the weekend of the Dunwich Dynamo the railway doesn’t want any bikes on board. We were told to put our folding bikes in the luggage racks, but after we said we couldn’t lift them up there the friendly guard relented.

Achievement unlocked.

Lost 🐈‍⬛ Have you seen it? £300 for the painting!

Designated Picnic Area in the service road behind Mill Road's 'Broadway'.

Need for racks in Great Eastern Street.

The area around the new cattlegrid north of the railway underpass is surfaced - but fence and gate not yet added.

Realigned path north of the railway underpass is surfaced and open.

I don't see much recent change on the north bridge ramp.

The rightangle turn between fences looks rather tight.

The northern end of the diversion around the compound doesn't look great.

Could this be the beginning of work to realign the brook through the south compound? I couldn't see enough to judge.

Towpath diversion around the north compound for Chisholm Trail work looks OK at the river end.

'End of cycle route' sign at Balshagray Lane. The roads beyond here are very hostile.

Subsiding pedestrian crossing tactiles at toucan crossing in Dyke Road.

The standard of construction of this riverside path appears to be very poor. A hole has opened up at the edge here, and both sets of steps have been fenced off. The kerb at the back of the path is set very high.

The West Street access point to the Forth & Clyde Canal could use a dropped kerb.

A new canal towpath access point has been created at the Centre81 community centre in Whitecrook.

A new steps and ramp access to the canal towpath is being built at the Centre81 community centre in Whitecrook. The towpath here has been resurfaced over a short distance.

Paths on both sides of the canal at Linnvale have bumpy surfaces.

The path on the north side of the Forth & Clyde Canal at Linnvale has a loose gravel surface, while the direct route to Strauss Avenue is just a grass path.

Lack of verge trimming has lead to the LED catseyes being, in a number of cases like here on the left, completely covered over.

Somewhere in Nantes, 2018 Precise location not yet known.

Bunting in Bridge Street

Girton Youth Project’s graffiti promises a brighter future for walls and people. There are some useable racks here, and some poor ones, see #172429.

Bicycles face the rack at Woodlands Surgery. Better racks are nearby at #172430.

[Image taken 23.7.21] Londis, Haxby Road junction with White Cross Road, York. The man in the doorway came out to see what I was taking photos of (see: #172424, #172425, #172426, #172427). I had tried to close the door myself but it the loc ... [more]

Note added 25.7.21. This black bin is for depositing dog waste. Over several months the briars and (see: #169951) nettles grew over it. On 23.7.21 I was here with the CYC walking and cycling officer to put my view the infra here is critical ... [more]

Route sign on RCN route 41 - it's worth the detour to Iken church

Signs on RCN route 41 RCN = Regional Cycle Network

End of one Quiet Lane, and the start of another across the road.

A restricted byway, which allows cyclists to cut off a corner of the A1094 route from Aldeburgh to Snape

No Through Road - but RCN 41 goes via the Butley Ferry

House on the former Leiston-Aldeburgh railway - footpaths continue to the left, or turn right onto The Drift

The track from Aldeburgh to Leiston - route of the old railway line.

Some cycle route signage (I assume) on this Give Way post. The sign has route 8 and route 11 and an SS next to a cycle symbol.

Some on platform cycle parking at Saxmundham station. A bykebin, four sheffield stands and two concrete slots.

Racks on the platform at Stowmarket.

Wickham Market Station. A sign promises CCTV coverage - and there's a rather nice bike there protected with a rather weak lock.
